PUBLIC HEARING
April 22, 2026
Mayor Nelson opened the Public Hearing of the Salix City Council at 6:56pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Council members present: Gene Monk, Denise Burkhart, Brenda Smith-Hansen, Nick Black, Emily Clayton was absent.
Others present: Ashley Mareau
• Mayor Nelson opened the public hearing on the proposed FY27 budget. No citizens voiced an opinion for or against the proposal. No oral or written comments were received after the required notice was posted and published in the Sgt. Bluff Advocate.
• Burkhart to close the public hearing, seconded by Black. All ayes, motion carried. Mayor Nelson declared the public hearing closed.
• Resolution 2026-5 Adopting FY27 Budget was approved on motion from Burkhart and seconded by Smith-Hansen. Roll call vote: Monk (aye), Black (aye), Burkhart (aye), Smith-Hansen (aye), Clayton (absent). Resolution 2026-5 passed and approved.
Smith-Hansen motioned to adjourn the public hearing meeting at 7:13pm. Monk seconded.
