Mayor Nelson opened the special meeting of the Salix City Council at 6:00pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Council members present: Gene Monk, Denise Burkhart, Emily Clayton, Brenda Smith-Hansen, Tim Skidmore
Others present: Ashley Mareau, Nathan Overberg (over the phone)
• Resolution 2026-20 Res. Establishing Rules for Public Forum was motioned by Burkhart, Skidmore seconded. Roll count vote: Monk (aye), Skidmore (aye), Burkhart (aye), Clayton (aye), Smith-Hansen (aye). The resolution was approved.
• Skidmore motioned to approve the last of the May 2026 storm damage repairs, Premiere Fence & Casey Roofing. Monk seconded. All ayes, bills approved to be paid.
• Mayor Nelson opened the discussion over the MOU with Google. Questions from Council to Overberg, then to Google. Overberg offered to send lists of those he has worked with in the past on Data Center projects. Future site visits were also discussed.
• The meeting was adjourned at 6:45pm by a motion from Burkhart and seconded by Clayton. All ayes. Meeting adjourned.
