NOTICE OF HEARING ON COMMISSIONERS REPORT FOR CLASSIFICATION OF BENEFITS FOR THE SALIX DRAINAGE DISTRICT, WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA
APRIL 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
TO ALL LIENHOLDERS, ENCUMBRANCERS, UNKNOWN HEIRS AND CLAIMANTS BY WILL, AND OCCUPANTS OF LAND WITHIN AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES IN SALIX DRAINAGE DISTRICT, WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA,
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Trustees of THE SALIX DRAINAGE DISTRICT, Woodbury County, Iowa, has received the “Report of the Commissioners to Classify and Assess the Drainage District” for the Salix Drainage District, Woodbury County, Iowa. In the Report of the Commissioners to Classify and Assess the Drainage District the commissioners ascertained and fixed the percentage of benefits and apportioned costs of the lands benefited by Salix Drainage District.
Upon the Drainage District Engineer’s favorable review, the Trustees tentatively approved the Report of the Commissioners to Classify and Assess the Drainage District on February 11, 2026.
A complete copy of the Commissioners Report stating the amount of assessment of original costs and expenses of construction apportioned to each owner upon each 40-acre tract or less (or per parcel as documented by the Auditor) is on file in the office of the County Auditor of Woodbury County, Iowa, at the Woodbury County Courthouse in Woodbury County, Iowa, and is available for review. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Trustees of THE SALIX DRAINAGE DISTRICT, Woodbury County, Iowa, has fixed a time and place for hearing on the Report of the Commissioners to Classify and Assess the Drainage District for April 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Salix Community Center, 317 Tipton St., Salix, Woodbury County, Iowa. At said hearing the Trustees shall hear objections to the Report of the Commissioners to Classify and Assess the Drainage District. Please note that the Commissioners Report may be amended before final action is taken thereon by the Trustees.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED THAT ALL OBJECTIONS TO THE COMMISSIONERS REPORT OR TO ANY MATTER CONNECTED WITH THIS HEARING MUST BE IN WRITING AND FILED AT THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE AT THE SALIX CITY HALL IN SALIX, IOWA, AT OR BEFORE THE TIME FIXED FOR HEARING.
ANY INTERESTED PARTY MAY BE HEARD IN AN ARGUMENT BY HIM OR HERSELF, OR BY COUNSEL.
ANYONE WHO FAILS TO OBJECT SHALL BE HELD TO HAVE WAIVED ALL OBJECTIONS AND CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES.
