(SBA) - The dynamic jazz and blues band from Minneapolis, Davina and the Vagabonds, will take the Studio 3 LIVE stage for season 2 of the Iowa PBS music series that celebrates artists from a variety of genres. This Studio 3 LIVE concert will be recorded in front of a live audience on Wednesday, September 25 at 6 p.m. at Iowa PBS in Johnston.

With musically gifted and powerful vocalist Davina Sowers at the lead, the band Davina and the Vagabonds performs an emotional and high-energy show. Their albums have received critical acclaim and they've performed at major festivals across the globe. Davina’s voice and stage presence are often compared to legends like Etta James and Amy Winehouse, but she is recognized for her original style and commanding performance. Season 2 of Studio 3 LIVE, hosted by Mickey Davis, will begin premiering on statewide Iowa PBS later this fall.

"Davina and the Vagabonds showcase an electrifying blend of blues and jazz and that combined with Davina's remarkable talent, creates an unforgettable performance," says Davis. “With a long history of captivating audiences across Iowa with their electric live shows, they are going to be a great addition to the Studio 3 LIVE line-up.”

Iowa PBS is offering local music lovers an opportunity to experience this intimate, live concert recording session as a member of the studio audience. Attendees will be seated onstage and can expect to be immersed in the energetic atmosphere of a live concert performance. Attendance during season 2 production is free, but stage seating is very limited and must be reserved in advance. Registered attendees will need to arrive at 5:30 p.m. with the hour-long recording session beginning at 6 p.m.
