NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY CITY COUNCIL ON SALE OF PUBLIC PROPERTY
You are hereby notified that on the 8th day of July, 2025, the City Council for the City of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa will hold a public hearing in Council Chambers located at 501 4th Street in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa at the Council’s regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. to review and consider sale of public property any offer or proposal for purchase of public property located north of 704 D Street, which is legally described as follows:  
A PARCEL IN THE NW1/4 SE1/4 OF SECTION 30, T-88-N, R-47-W, OF THE 5TH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, CITY OF SERGEANT BLUFF, WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA. SAID PARCEL MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
COMMENCING AT THE CENTER OF SECTION 30; THENCE S0°53'41"W (AN ASSUMED BEARING) ALONG THE WEST LINE OF THE SE1/4 SECTION 30 FOR 88.60 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUING S0°53'41"W FOR 124.86 FEET; THENCE S88°50'58"E FOR 114.48 FEET TO THE WEST ROW LINE OF THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD; THENCE N27°13'39"W ALONG SAID RAILROAD ROW LINE FOR 114.92 FEET; THENCE N88°50'58"W FOR 47.58 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.
SAID DESCRIPTION CONTAINS 10,117 S.F. (0.232 ACRES).
The City does not reasonably anticipate that it will need the Property for City services or other public development now or in the future.
Interested parties are invited to submit proposals to purchase the parcel which shall include the purchase price, proposed use, and any plans for development of the property. A proposal packet can be received at City Hall.
The deadline to submit proposals to the City Clerk, located at 501 4th Street in Sergeant Bluff, shall be on or before 5:00 p.m. on July 7, 2025.
The City Council shall, by resolution after the public hearing, consider whether to accept any proposal for purchase of the property, determine the sale price, and set the terms for transfer of the property.  The resolution shall, if approved, authorize and direct City staff, the Mayor or the Mayor Pro Tem to execute any and all necessary deeds and other documents of transfer to complete the sale.
All interested persons are urged to comment, either in person, by agent or attorney, or in writing.
