ORDINANCE NO. 751
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 99 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SERGEANT BLUFF, IOWA, TO INCREASE THE USAGE CHARGE FOR SEWER SERVICE
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa:
SECTION 1. SECTION MODIFIED. Section 99.02 located in Chapter 99 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, is repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof:
99.02 RATE.
Each customer shall pay sewer service charges for the use of and for the service supplied by the municipal sanitary sewer system as follows:
1. Basic Service Charge. A minimum basic service charge of $10.35 per customer per month; except for Multi-Family Residential Facilities of greater than twenty-four (24) living units and that are billed by master metering, a minimum basic service charge of $2.14 per living unit per month.
2. Usage Charge. Each customer shall pay a sewer rental usage charge of $11.19 for each 1,000 gallons of water used per month.
SECTION 2. REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. In all other respects, Chapter 99 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa shall remain in effect as previously adopted.
SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4. WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage and approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Sergeant Bluff on the 25th day of June 2024, and approved this 25th day of June 2024.
