(SBA) - On Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Betty Strong Encounter Center’s Stanley Evans Auditorium, come hear the Radio Rangers play “Music that Inspired Us.The concert includes favorite songs from various singer/songwriters as well as some Radio Ranger originals: Carole King, John Denver, Willie Nelson, and Paul McCartney.

The Radio Rangers are a two-piece band playing live music that includes Americana original songs, and classic covers. Randy sings, plays drums and keyboard lead and Donna sings and plays guitar and bass. Retired music teachers that formed the current duo after retirement, they have been playing together in bands since 1979. They were the founding members of the country/pop band “Prairie Fire” and did a Midwest tour in 1988 with a group called “Radio Flyers” and later became members of the party band “Time Bandits”. Radio Rangers has played wineries, night clubs, parties and celebrations in many Midwest states.

The music they play helps explain why they started making music, writing songs and continue to make music.  They share how and why learning to write and record their own music and finding a place to sell and play it while working full time as public-school music educators was important.
