(SBA) - The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Board of Education has announced the appointment of Alissah Albert as the new Director of Student Services. Albert, who currently serves as the Lead Strategist at Northwest Area Education Agency (AEA), brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new role.
During her tenure at Northwest AEA, Albert has worked closely with Sergeant Bluff-Luton schools as a special education strategist for both elementary and middle school levels. Her deep understanding of the district’s special education program will be invaluable as she transitions into her new position. Prior to her work at Northwest AEA, Albert was a special education teacher and Student Assistance Team Coordinator in South Sioux City.
The Director of Student Services is a newly created position at Sergeant Bluff-Luton, designed to oversee district-wide special education and Section 504 programs. Additionally, Albert will provide leadership in school operations, with a particular focus on middle school discipline. This dual-role position ensures compliance with federal and state special education laws, supports professional development, and maintains the integrity of academic and behavioral systems across the district to meet the needs of all students.
Albert’s official start date is set for July 1. The Sergeant Bluff-Luton community looks forward to the positive impact she will bring to the district in her new role.
