MEETING MINUTES

1.Call to Order
The regular October 2024  meeting of the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Board of Education was called to order at 6:00 a.m. by President Jeff Wright .
2.Approval of the Agenda

3.Welcome Visitors & Guests
President Wright welcomed the visitors and asked if anyone present wished to address the board.  No oral or written comments were given.
4.Approval of minutes from the previous meetings
The minutes of the meetings for September 2024 were reviewed by the board.

7.Recognition
Mr McCauley recognized the following: 
•Cathy Bishop and Aggies for preparing Tavern meat for Music Booster Tailgate on Sept. 20
•John Hildman of Tysen Fresh Foods - for donating meat for Music Booster Homecoming Tailgate
Each of the building principals recognized the Homecoming March and the fun, festive experience the students had.  Some students had commented that they had never attended homecoming events nor been to our football field before.  The scheduled timing was perfect for the Homecoming March and the activities and to allow enough time for the students to return to their buildings.
8.Administrative Reports
a.Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Konopasek
Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Konopasek reviewed the enrollment numbers, professional development and their student teachers.  Mrs. Konopasek is setting her role as the new principal in the building.  Her staff is doing shout-outs to recognize other staff members and bring energy into the Elementary School.
9.Action Items
a.Public Hearing to present proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost of the East Campus Phase I project for public reaction.
A Public Hearing to present proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost of the East Campus Phase I project for public reaction was held.  No oral or written comments were given.
b.Approve proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost of the East Campus Phase I project

c.SitelogIQ presentation of final general contractor recommendation for the East Campus Phase I Project and Board consideration and possible action on bid recommendation.
Ric D'Amico from SitelogIQ presented the bid tabulation sheet and made a final recommendation to award the bid to the lowest responsive bidder, Nelson Commercial Construction, for $6,740,000.
