1.Call to Order
The regular June 2024 meeting of the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Board of Education was called to order by President Jeff Wright at 6:30 a.m.    The meeting was held in the Elementary School Art Room.
2.Approval of the Agenda
Motion to approve the agenda with an action item added for approval of the graduate list.

3.Welcome Visitors & Guests
President Wright welcomed the visitors and asked if anyone present wished to address the board.  No written or oral comments were given.
4.Approval of minutes from the previous meetings
The minutes of the meetings from May 2024 were reviewed by the board.

Approximately 230 athletes participating in summer weight program/speed agility.
President Wright recognized the participations in the Team and Individual State Tennis Competition: Tyler Grote, Nate Meyer, Braxton VanMeter, Carter Gehling, Joe Wright and Dylan Janzen.
Mr. McCauley recognized the following: 
• The High School Band Director and students for their work in the following performances: State Large Group Contest, Graduation, Memorial Day services for Sgt. Bluff and Salix Cemeteries.  
• Mrs. Nelson for bringing our Middle School Band to the Tulip Festival.  
• Mr. Munch for helping with the High School Band program this past year.  
• Mrs. Massey for her work with the Middle School and High School Choirs and their performances at the 6-12 Vocal Concert, State Large Group Contest, and the Vocal Music Festival in Kansas City.  
• Mrs. Struck and the Kindergarten for their performance in the Kindergarten concert.

Mr. Janzen provided a list of 2024 high school graduates for review.   Students had to meet our graduation requirements in order to graduate.

9.Superintendent Report
a.Move July Board Meeting
Mr. Janzen recommended moving the July 4th board meeting to July 11.  
b.Board Goals
Mr. Janzen reviewed  the board goals.  A discussion took place.
c.The Humanity Project
Mr. Janzen reviewed using The Humanity Project to build culture within the buildings.
d.Transportation director sharing update
Mr. Janzen provided an update on the Transportation Director Sharing Agreement with Lawton-Bronson CSD.
e.Girls' Wrestling
Mr. Janzen discussed girls wrestling.  Our high school coaches resigned, and we have not been able to find coaches for next year.  Sioux City East High is willing to take the SBL girls wrestling program for the next few years, if we need that option.  We may have a coach interested in our Middle School girls wrestling program.  
f.K-5 Grading & Report Cards
Dr. McCrory and Mrs. Adams discussed the K-5 grading and report cards moving to standards-based.
g.Initial Planning Meeting with SitelogIQ regarding facility drawings for fields on the east campus
Mr. Janzen provided details of the initial planning meeting with SitelogIQ, including significant savings possibilities regarding the concession stand.   Jeff Herzberg attended by Zoom and presented the timeline of the fields.  A discussion took place concerning the timeline.
