Sioux City, IA— Woodbury County Conservation is providing an update on park access and facility openings following recent storm damage in the area.
Brown’s Lake-Bigelow Park (Salix, IA) will reopen its campground, shelter, and picnic areas on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to access these areas; however, the beach and concession stand will remain closed as cleanup continues.
Snyder Bend Park (Salix, IA) will remain fully closed until further notice due to significant storm impacts. Staff are continuing debris removal and safety evaluations, and the park will reopen once conditions are deemed safe for public use.
Little Sioux Park (Correctionville, IA) was not affected by the recent storm and will open its beach and concession stand as scheduled on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Woodbury County Conservation appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while crews work to restore safe access across the park system.
