(SBA) - We hear a lot about the threat to our Democracy this election cycle. The truth is we must be diligent in preserving election integrity to save our Republic. We are a Democratic Republic which is representative government not a pure democracy which means the popular vote would rule the day. There were so many election rules that were changed during the pandemic which favored the Democrats and put the election integrity in jeopardy. State legislatures are given jurisdiction over voting rules but in 2020, state supreme courts weighed in and changed the way elections were held which was in direct violation of the Constitution.
Congressman Jody Hice wrote in his book Sacred Trust about the ways Democrats pushed the narrative that voter suppression was a great risk to voters if the changes in election law were not implemented during the pandemic. This was of course a lie. He brings out the principle that our nation was founded on the fundamental principle of a trustworthy election process.
In Newsmax’s review of Hice’s book, it was noted that the report published by former President Jimmy Carter and James Baker, entitled “Building Confidence in U.S. Elections”, determined that mail-in ballots were a horrible idea that produced a ripe environment for fraud. Yet, this practice has expanded in most states. Republicans generally believe we have an election day for a reason, that is, the day we should all vote. Democrats can’t seem to get their voters to the polls on election day so they come up with every possible way to make it easy to vote even for the least interested voter, whether eligible or not.
So many of the safeguards that had been in place before the pandemic were thrown out the window such as, signature verification, harvesting ballots by untrained or ungoverned people, voting after election day, unmanned voting boxes, along with no chain of custody requirements. Can you see how the integrity of our voting procedures was damaged?
Our Constitution is the Law of the Land and specifically where it has spoken directly to a subject. Federal elections is one of those fundamental institutions that must be adhered to if we want to remain a Republic. Voter suppression has not be a real issue for many decades but that doesn’t stop Democrats from flooding the airwaves with these lies.
President James Garfield said the following which is truer today than then, “Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress (but also, our President, my addition). If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature…If the next centennial does not find us a great nation…it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.” (Biblical Citizenship in Modern America from a quote in A Century of Progress by James A. Our founding fathers knew and wrote about the importance of morality and religion as a basis for successful self-governance. As our nation has fallen away from a culture of morality and religion, we see our freedoms guaranteed by God sifting away and with it the ability of the populous to have a voice in their representative government. When government, media, corporations, and tech companies coalesce around a narrative that does not have truth, we are destined to destruction of individual liberty as ordained by God. Government did not give us our inalienable rights, God did. Thus, the government cannot take them away unless we allow it. This has happened because too many Americans do not take their duty to be informed and vote as informed citizens in our elections.
The Heartland Institute, a public policy think tank, conducted a poll in 2023, which found that “in the 2020 general election, more than one in five mail-in voters admitted to voting illegally.” In addition, another recent survey done by the Institute indicated “approximately 44 million Americans would vote illegally in the 2024 election ‘to prevent (the) other side from winning.”’ Does it sound like religion and morality has gone out the window? This evidence shows how close we are to destroying our nation from within.
Voter integrity begins with an informed electorate. If you do not know who makes the rules regarding federal election law, you will be easily deceived. I did not hear the electorate complaining about the election law being broken in 2020. If they had been informed, perhaps they could have avoided the unmanned voter boxes, mail-in ballots, unverified signature matches, no voter ID, etc. Now is the time to be aware and be attentive as to how your county is processing ballots and all the procedures. Same day registration is as evil a practice as is mail-in ballots and no voter ID requirement. Just bringing in a household bill with your name and address on it as verification that you are who you say you are, is not an assurance of election integrity. It is early enough for you to talk with your county auditor to see what rules they have in place to secure election integrity. Do your duty and let your voice be heard on this issue.
