Nicole Lynn “Nikki” Shannon, 52, of Bloomington, Minnesota, passed away on April 22, 2026.
Nikki was born on December 28, 1973, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Farrell L. Merryman and Pamela J. Valentino. She spent much of her life in Sioux City before moving to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, where she lived with her father and stepmother, Leigh Starr. Nikki graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 1993.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Shannon; her children, Darby and Austin Shannon of Bloomington, Minnesota; her father, Farrell Merryman of Sioux City, Iowa; her mother, Pamela (Bill) Valentino of Des Moines, Iowa; her brothers, Clayton (Susan) Merryman of North Sioux City, South Dakota, Eric (Melissa) Merryman of Casper, Wyoming, Ryan (Kjersti) Merryman of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Kyle Merryman of Sioux City, Iowa; her sister, Kayla Merryman of Sioux City, Iowa; her stepmother, Leigh Starr (Wayne); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Jerry and Dolly; her grandfather, Spud; Robert and Frederica Shannon; her uncle, Tim; and her cousins, Cori and Daniel.
Nikki was a loyal employee of MY Credit Union, where she worked beginning in April 1998. She was also a member of the Richfield Bloomington Eagles Club #3208.
Those who knew Nikki will remember her warm smile, infectious laugh, and generous spirit. She loved her family and friends deeply, and her heartfelt hugs and joyful presence will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 901 E. 90th St., Bloomington, Minnesota.
Nikki will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, and classmates. She was truly one of a kind.
