Open letter to Sergeant Bluff Mayor and City Council
I am writing to express my opposition to the rezoning of the 5 acres next to my property. Thirteen years ago, Cathy and I moved out of Sergeant Bluff to get away from the politics and yuppie agenda that defined Sergeant Bluff. However, our effort was for naught, given that later we were annexed back into Sergeant Bluff without our knowledge, consent or the courtesy of a notice. As a result of our annexation, our taxes immediately shot up. Thank you very much.

It's bad enough that we now have houses within 50 feet of ours, occupied by people who expect my tax dollars to educate their kids while they enjoy their tax abatement, but we sure as hell don’t need a McDonald’s in our backyard!
Given my mobility issues, I would request that this letter be read at the hearing. If that is not possible, I will arrange for a lawyer to appear to read it.

Please advise. Thank you for your time.
Jerry J. Kobs, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa
