Voting for America

Posted
(SB) – I vividly remember the Vietnam war protests in the mid and late 1960s and early 1970s.

I was overseas at the time and read a Stars and Stripes article in which one of the stateside marijuana-induced students said he was against the military draft (conscription), because he “could better serve [his] country by going to college.”

You S.O.B, I said reading this.

I was drafted, I didn’t like it, I was working and going to college, but I answered the call because I had to or wind up in prison. That was the law for dodging the draft. That’s what happened to draft-dodgers.

So, I was overseas and doing what I was trained to do, while the druggies back in the States paraded around with signs that read: “Hell no, we won’t go!” Not only parading, but rioting on college campuses, smashing windows, setting fire to anything that would erupt into a flame, and defying law officials who tried to quell the poor, little, young, goofy protesters.

Colleges didn’t intervene. Why should they? Waiting lists of students lined up from the Registration office, down the hallowed halls, and out onto campus sidewalks, over well-manicured lawns, and filled all the available benches. For the colleges, the student overflow meant an endless stream of vast tuition monies, book sales at overpriced campus bookstores, and raises for all the Ivory Tower liberals.

Was everybody happy then? You betcha!… notably draft dodgers, coddling college administrators, hoity-toity moms and dads who fully wanted to keep their grown-up babies home. They did so while working stiff parents waved good-bye to their sons (and daughters who enlisted out of patriotism).

Meanwhile, those sons of us little people – poor kids, kids of hard-working, blue-collar families, black and white kids from inner cities, or kids with no connections, or kids with nowhere-with-all, or decent kids who simply obeyed the directions of draft boards -- were getting blown apart in Vietnam’s jungles (58,220 Americans killed).

You think the leftist protesters cared? They didn’t then and they don’t now.

The pot-smoking, brainless young lefties, libs, enjoying the freedom bought at the price of real Americans, swarmed Woodstock, NY., where they danced naked in self-made mud holes, and ambled about in a vast cloud of marijuana smoke.

The media, then (like now), sympathized with the left.

Nothing changed then, nothing changed now. They still write sob-stories favoring criminals. They lionize murderers like Luigi Mangione, 28, who, on Dec. 4, 2024, murdered  Brian Thompson by shooting him in Midtown Manhattan. A shirtless photo of Luigi was posted and women inundated him with love letters. The same with Christopher Watts of Colorado who killed his pregnant wife Shanann and two daughters, Bella (4), and Celeste (3). The slimeball pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty. So, the killer lives while his wife and four children are dead. Guess what? Murderer Christopher gets love letters from the growing lot of goofy women.

I don’t know what’s wrong with the love letter women of today. All I know is women back in my day were nothing like what we see now. (If that were the case Richard Speck, who murdered eight student nurses in Chicago (July 14, 1966) would have been swarmed with love letters for his horrific crime had the crime been committed today).

Something changed in our world.

Looney Hollywood bimbo Jane Fonda was one of the first to climb out from under a rock, taking advantage of her celebrity to preach her inane ideas, and gaining a band of miscreants to follow her, nodding their collective heads in unison, and make ugly actions into a sensation of depravity.

She made a trip to North Vietnam in July 1972 and was welcomed to Hanoi with open arms. To the North Vietnamese (NV), Jane was a propaganda boom handed to them on a silver platter. America was at war with North Vietnam, and Janey-babe, actress, leftist brat born into Hollywood royalty, told the NV what they wanted to hear. Without going into details of  Janey’s disparaging opinions, she said she was with America’s enemy. Like Obama later, everything was America’s fault. We were bad. They were good. America was wrong. North Vietnam was right.

Fonda was photographed seated on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun; the photo outraged real Americans. The left loved her; they still do. She was filmed talking to American POWs and let them know they were to be ashamed for their part in the Vietnam war.

Reading about her excursion, then and now, is the reason American GIs christened her “Hanoi Jane.”

It was not an easy time for anyone wearing a military uniform. Protesters in the mid-1960s and early 1970s called returning Vietnam servicemembers “baby killers,” and paraded around the White House chanting in unison, “Hey, hey, L-B-J, how many kids did you kill today?” That was then. Now, that bunch – the spoiled rotten kids of the Boomers – want death on demand of unborn babies. They call it “Pro-Choice,” a euphemism for “Pro-Death.”

Soulless people never change.

That bunch is old now, and they’re the same now as they were then. They still protest everything, still hate America, still think the world owes them a living, still think they are above the law, and still think they deserve what you have but won’t lift a finger to work for it. They’re screwy. They were that way before, and they are that way now. They produced Gen X.
No, not all the Baby Boomers turned out as we came to know them. Thankfully, good exceptions exist. The same with Gen X.

Just think how all the young men who died on Normandy beach (June 6, 1944), or the Americans who fell in Korea (1950-1953), Vietnam (1964-1975) the Cold War (1947-1991), Iraq (2003-2011), Afghanistan (2001-2021) and every war in between. Think about them. They went and fought for America. They didn’t go, fight and die for the loonies who shout and scream for communism, Islamic terrorists, illegal aliens, abolishment of our Law Enforcement officials, blanket amnesty, corruption, crimes against kids, ANTIFA, BLM, KKK, or any other fringe group that hates America.

They fought and died for YOU. YOU!

I hope you remember that on Election day, Nov. 3, 2026. I really hope you vote for the America we believe in. I pray you do.
